A Few Things to Hate On

1) Alabama not putting the knee down with 50 seconds left and instead scoring again....despite being up 10 and Texas not being able to stop the clock. Classless

2) Holding 4 fingers up going into the 4th quarter. Enough of this shit already. Everyone and their mother does it....so who cares? "It's the 4th quarter! OMG!" Dude, shut up. We know. That's why the ref blew his whistle and you're changing sides of the field. What really pisses me off about this is that every fan and players on BOTH teams do this....even the teams that are getting blown out. Why are you so happy it's the last quarter of the game? You are closer to your demise. Ughhhh

3) The Gatorade bath. Who cares anymore. It was cool a long time ago, but now you're just ruining clothing. I don't care what kind of laundry detergent you've got....you're being a dick.

4) Michelob Ultra commercials. For those that are unaware, these commercials show people doing outdoor activities and exercising the day after drinking their Mick Ultra, clearly marketing toward health conscious individuals. But hey....guess what? Natty Light has the same amount of calories. Get a better product or just shut up.

5) Mark Ingram's Dad. The dude is in prison for a serious criminal offense. Who gives a shit if he can watch his son play in the national championship? Maybe he shouldn't have laundered money and committed bank fraud. How about giving someone else's dad some pub....maybe one that ins't incarcerated. This reminds me of a game when Penn State was playing MSU and Jeff Smoker was the MSU quarterback. The announcers would not get off Smoker's balls about him recovering from a drug addiction. They praised him allll game long and didn't even give mention to his teammates...the ones that never got addicted to drugs in the first place.

What kind of message is this sending people? My future plan is to get arrested after some grand larceny and assault, then I am going to get my kids addicted to crack so that one day they overcome their addiction and play football and the announcers can praise them about what they've overcome and talk about how great it is that I can watch my wonderful children play football while in prison.

6) Dave Matthews Band should never be played during a football game. Period. This isn't soccer

Lastly, I would just like to say that Colt McCoy is a terrific individual, and it is really unfortunate that someone that really cared about his university could not help them win a national championship.

I have Sept. 11, 2010 circled on my calendar (or I would if my parents had got me one like they normally do for Christmas). I would love to stick it to Saban....jabroni

I liked this post. You made some good points and also made me laugh.

#1. I agree, I couldn't believe they didn't just take a knee in that situation. That was pretty stupid.

#2. Yeah it's way overdone. And it's pointless because both teams do it.

#3. I don't really hate the Gatorade bath, but Saban didn't have to look so miserable and pissed afterwards. I mean lighten up, you just won the National Championship. How about a smile? He seriously looked like he was pissed at his players for doing that.

#4. No comment.

#5. Hilarious commentary.

#6. I love the Dave Matthews Band, but I agree. It's an odd partnership with college football. Not to mention they played DMB at every single game on ABC for the entire season. It was very weird.

#7. I feel sorry for not only McCoy, and not only the Texas team and fans, but also for the Alabama and general college football fans. NOBODY wanted to see that game played without McCoy. If I was a Bama fan, I would have been dissapointed to see him go down. Somehow they still made a game of it, which was incredible to me.

Lastly, I'm looking forward to that game, but I really don't expect a victory. They are going to be very strong next year, and PSU will be young and inexperienced. It should be a good defensive low scoring game, but I expect a loss in that one against the #1 team in the country. Not sure if PSU will even be ranked to enter the season. I would guess somewhere from 20-25.

Orlando was way too cold on New Years day. Loved to see the boys get a win though. Being that I haven't been back to Happy Valley to see a football game since I graduated, I was glad I got the opportunity to attend the game. On a side note, I also got to attend the Pens game in Tampa, hit the casino, and donate my winnings to the local single moms.

Rudy, that's a lot of salt your throwing around here and I like it. I went to the local ale house last night to watch the game with some fellas I play ball with down here and some others. I was talking to one of the guys I didn't really know and I told him I went to Penn State. He says to me, "y'all will never win a national championship." Of course I inquired about his reasons for this statement, and I quote, "Because southern football players are better than northern football players." That's a pretty broad statement. He is a Florida State grad, so I assume his generalization was mainly based on the fact that Florida State beat West Virginia in a bowl they really shouldn't have been in anyway.

Really liking the blog these days gentlemen. Keep up the good work.

Back to Pittsburgh tonight.
